The Problem
Many people (young adults specifically), may not be motivated to engage themselves in physical sports due to weight class and skill level, this may cause individuals to not grow to their fullest potential and damage their overall health. There are many different reasons why youths may not partipicate in sports – physically incapable, costs, afraid of injury, and lifestyle.
A Solution
I propose to create a social hub (app or website) displaying all of the local sports events and leagues available to people. They will be specific to people’s skill level and weight class so that people who are starting out, will not feel discouraged or quit the sport. The app will showcase different sports and their leagues with preview videos to encourage more people to join as they are able to see what it’s like to play with their team. The users will have the freedom of joining a competitive or recreational league based on their reasonings which may be that person could be practicing to go pro or to lose weight and continue to live an active lifestyle with their friends and family.
